The Dixie Theater was a white-owned business in Greenwood owned by William Redfern. It was located at 120 N Greenwood. At the time it was the second largest theater in Tulsa seating one thousand people.
William Redfern had owned two businesses which both burned in the riot. These businesses were insured for nineteen thousand dollars, but the insurance company refused to pay claiming the riot an exclusion to their policy. Redfern filed many lawsuits one of which has become the most reliable retelling of the riot.
It was located at 120 N Greenwood Today at this location is Tee's Barber Shop.
